Fissure sealing

Fissure sealing

Fissure sealing is a prophylactic measure to protect teeth from tooth decay. The chewing surface of the molars consists of pits and furrows called fissures. The fissures are particularly at risk of caries, because they offer food residues and thus bacteria good adhesion possibilities and are difficult to reach with the toothbrush. As a preventive measure, the chewing surfaces of the molars are professionally sealed.
